TABS
was initiated in 1992 by a group of school effectiveness enthusiasts
including practicing secondary school principals, local university
professors and senior officers from the Education Department*.
In 2004, TABS has 30 member schools with variety of missions,
organizing bodies and funding models.
*Education Department has been restructured
to be Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) since 2003.
Our Vision
| Our
movement aims to encourage schools to improve towards
quality and towards effectiveness through voluntary sharing
of good practices. We believe that wisdom among practitioners
could be spread to inspire similar schools to tackle local
problems. Our role is to induce such snowballing effect
so that practitioners could have a rich knowledge about
good practices, and from this knowledge, they could choose
the right project in the right time. Together with the
joint effort of the academic and government colleagues,
we offer professional assurance to the quality of education
in Hong Kong. |
